How to Make CD/DVD Labels

The best touch to making your own CD or DVD is making you own CD or DVD label. At Desktop Labels, we offer our own CD label template that fits perfectly with our CD and DVD labels. Microsoft also offers free downloads of CD label templates online. Here's how to get them, and how to use them.

Desktop Labels™ Template

  1. Select the "CD Labels" link on the left.
  2. Click on any of the CD items that appear.
  3. A new page will open. Click the "Download Template" link.
  4. A new window will open. Click "Save."
  5. Click "Open" on the new window that pops up.

A new Microsoft document will open with the Desktop Labels™ template set up for you. It is possible to type, use word art, import images, or do anything in this template in the same way as in a normal MS Word Document.

Downloadable Microsoft Templates:
Microsoft also offers 22 different templates for CD labels. These templates are set up with color, text boxes and graphics boxes for you, so that all you have to do is design what your text and pictures are going to look like. Here's how to get them:

  1. Go to http://www.msofficetuneup.com/2007/09/26/make-your-own-cddvd-labels/
  2. Scroll down and select the option to download "MSofficetuneup CD/DVD Label."
  3. Click the "Save" option in the new window that appears.
  4. Another window will appear. Select "Save" again.
  5. The last window will appear. Select "Open."
  6. You will see 22 different types of templates to open. Choose any one you like, and get to work!
